Three pedestrians severely injured after being hit by vehicles in Metro Vancouver

Three pedestrians in Metro Vancouver were severely injured when they were struck by vehicles in separate incidents on Friday.

RCMP in Burnaby say a 54-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit that night.

They say the driver remained at the scene and co-operated with police, adding that neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors.

Earlier that day, police say two women in Surrey and Abbotsford were also hit and, in each case, the driver fled the scene.

RCMP say they are looking for information about a mint green Dodge Caravan that was spotted driving away from the crash in Surrey, while Abbotsford Police say they found the suspect vehicle soon after the collision and were questioning the driver.

Police have not linked the cases.
