Kamloops RCMP investigates suspected arson fire at Westsyde home

Police are investigating a suspected arson after a home caught fire in Westsyde on Tuesday morning (Oct. 13).

Kamloops Fire Rescue fire investigator Ray Webster said the fire department was called out at 5:44 a.m. to 840 Anderson Terr. for a report of a house fire, responding with three fire trucks and 12 firefighters.

Webster said there were three people in the home and everyone escaped without injury.

He confirmed the fire is a suspected arson, describing the damage to the house from the flames as “minimal,” but could not specify the exact cause and what burned as the file is now is now a police investigation.

KTW is awaiting a reply from Kamloops RCMP regarding the fire.
